Not Afraid Clothing

Rework for Portfolio

Not afraid clothing was a community based project that i worked on a few years ago. I decided to give the hole brand identity a rework as when i first worked on the project some 6 years ago i was still very naive as a designer and had very little knowledge, practice and understanding on how to construct a brand identity.

Above was the original Logo that was used for the project. When looking back at it now, I think the idea was good but the execution lacked finesse and felt unfinished from the beginning. The reason for the rework is that i Feel this project makes for a good piece in my portfolio.

With the rework i decided to keep the original idea but Bring it forward and up to my date with more current trends in logo and brand design. Not Afraid Clothing was a community outreach project that was run by two psychologist in South Africa who mainly worked with young offenders in prison. Their goal was to create a brand of clothing to help these young offenders acclimatise to life after prison and to not be afraid or ashamed from their past, But to rather accept that it happened and that it does not define them as people afterwards.
